Mi Box 4K vs Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K : Specification , Price Comparison

For quite some time in order to watch your favourite shows and movies on the idiot box required the procurement of a Smart TV and if you had a regular TV you had to be content with your laptops or phones. But this changed with the introduction of TV sticks that could convert any TV into a smart TV. The major player in the market is the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K but recently Xiaomi released its own Mi Box 4k which does the same thing at a significantly lower price. But it does have its drawbacks. The former runs on Android TV 9 Pie and has upto 5,000 apps while the latter runs on Fire TV OS and has a dedicated app store for Fire TVs. The Fire TV Stick has a lesser range of apps than the Mi but it has all the popular ones like Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Hotstar etc.

One advantage that the Mi Box 4K has over the Fire TV Stick 4K is that it has a USB port which means that it can also be used as a media outlet to stream your downloaded movies and files. It also has a 3.5 mm digital socket for connecting external speakers.

The Fire TV Stick 4K is more sleeker and can be directly connected into the HDMI port of your TV thus concealing it from view while the Mi requires a designated space for itself.  Both can stream upto 4K resolution and provide a superior viewing experience.

In this criteria the Mi Box 4K has the advantage as it is priced at Rs 3,499 which is Rs 500 less than the regular Fire TV Stick and considerably less than the Fire TV Stick 4K which is priced at Rs 5,999. Thus if you are looking for a budget steal, Mi is the way to go.

If you are someone who does not mind spending a couple thousand extra then Fire TV Stick 4K is the way to go but if you are looking for a budget device that is reliable and well-equipped, Mi Box 4K is the perfect fit.
