Users will see the Follow and Message button side-by-side and mutual followers will appear when the user will click the Following tab. The grids, posts, and tagged photos will be in text form and not as an icon while IGTV will have its tab. The changes will help a user to connect with his followers easily.  The users having business accounts will find the new Shop tab beside Directions, Call, and Start Order buttons.

The company has told that the tests will be done in phases and the changes will be made according to the users’ feedback. Instagram is also planning to remove inauthentic likes, comments, and follows from the third party apps. In order to accomplish this, the company has made a tool called Machine Learning that will check the accounts that use third-party apps for likes and follows.

Instagram says that this platform has built machine learning-powered moderation tools which may help determine which accounts use third-party services and then it automatically remove fake follows, likes, and comments. They will also change their password promptly if the 3^rd party applications have compromised with their account security.

Instagram is ready to grow its platform for brands and influencers to hawk more accounts and products. So, it will automatically turn to 3^rd party applications to increase the posts’ popularity. According to The New York Times report on the phenomenon which is known as nano influencers (the folks who have around 1k followers, they want to earn free products in exchange for advertising those products on this platform). Like as Twitter’s crackdown on bots. Now Instagram will need to continue addressing if this wants to protect its integrity and ad business.

However, Instagram has already removed fake accounts on this platform the company has not taken any action against its fake likes and comments before. According to the company’s press release, the platform of Instagram is going to plan for all its fake likes and follows against fake activity on its app and accounts. It also says that hope it will helpful for all its real users.

The other alternative that Instagram provides in this realm is users can just tap the ‘scan the nametag’ option, and from here they can design their own nametag.  There is also an option of sharing using which they can send it to Facebook and WhatsApp.
