The messaging app is also working on same security feature for phones such as iPhone X, iPhone XS, iPhone that would work on front camera to lock the app using FaceID feature.
These both features are in alpha stage, which means in the development process and not ready for testing yet. But, WABetaInfo claims that these features will be disabled by default for taking benefit of this feature users have to go in privacy settings to enable that feature your mobile.
One point is notable that if in any case these features are not working and user exhausted the limit, then Whatsapp will ask the phone’s passcode, by giving alternatives to bypass biometric feature.
